From the AIDS 2016 Registration Team:
In order to ensure delegate security, the South African Government has mandated a process that all AIDS 2016 delegates must adhere to in order to access the conference venue in Durban. Please note, whether you are on site at the conference for one minute or one week, the process is the same.
This process is led by the South African State Security Agency. Conference organizers are responsible for supporting this process and for communicating with conference delegates. The process involves four steps:
1. Complete your registration
A registration desk will be available to finalize this on site, but you may experience significant delays. To avoid any delays at the conference, please complete your registration and submit full payment prior to Sunday 3 July 2016, 23:59 CEST.
2. Submit required registration and security information online
To expedite the security process, every delegate will need to complete their registration for AIDS 2016 and submit their up-to-date passport information (or national ID for South Africans). You can go online today to update your conference profile and provide this information no later than Sunday 3 July 2016, 23:59 CEST. Please make sure your information is complete and up to date as you will not be able to make corrections on site. This mandatory information is being collected by conference organizers on behalf of the South African State Security Agency. We will not share this with any other parties.
3. Print your conference voucher and have it on site with you
After your registration is complete, you will receive a printable conference voucher by 8 July that confirms your registration and attendance. It is very important that you print this voucher and bring it with you.
4. Appear in person to complete the accreditation process
Anyone entering the conference center in Durban will first need to appear in person at the accreditation office managed by the South African State Security Agency. You will receive directions to this office and other important information when you receive your printable conference voucher. You will need to present this voucher and your passport (or national ID for South Africans) – photocopies are not permitted. Security personnel will take your photo and print your badge for you.
